Dan is a founding Staff Member, and has been with the Festival since its inception in 1998. As the Operations and Site Manager, his job includes making sure all the W&J Festival facilities, utilities, equipment and operating supplies are available and working. He also manages various festival setup, maintenance and tear down crews and contractors.
Dan is a native Washingtonian who grew up in Toledo, WA. Dan attended Lower Columbia College in Longview on athletic scholarships and graduated from the University of Portland with a degree in Information Systems Management. His wife Leta grew up in Kelso, WA and they moved to Vancouver in 1979 shortly after they were married 33 years ago. Dan spent 30 years in the aluminum business and as a Technical Manager and IT Manager and was employed by Alcoa, Vanalco, Evergreen Aluminum, and Columbia Falls Aluminum. He is currently an Information Technology Consultant. Leta works as the Athletic Director at Heritage High School.
Dan has been active in the community as a performer and board member of Peanut Gallery Theater Company, served 12 years on the Board of Directors for Children's Home Society of Washington and has been a member of St. Joseph Parish for nearly 30 years. There he had served on the Parish Council, Finance Council and continues to sing in the Parish Choir, Soul Expression and is one of the Cantors. He is one of the original members of the Bravo! Vancouver Chorale and began working at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival when it began 15 years ago. He is currently the Operations and Site Manager for the Festival.
